Hustle & Shine Strategy
There are several aspects of my life that I'm acutely aware could use some improvement. They are small things separately, but if improved, I believe could have a big positive impact on my overall happiness and well-being.
One restless night as I was up into the wee hours of the night surfing the web on my iPhone (my lack of healthy sleeping habits definitely being one of those aspects of my life requiring improvement), I came across the Happiness Project blog. I was hooked on the idea of identifying your personal manifesto and taking a hard look at what truly makes up your own happiness. I haven't yet read the book (en route from Amazon as we speak), but I decided I wanted to try and apply that practice in my own quest for improved happiness.
Now, I consider myself a pretty happy, glass-half-full person. I generally enjoy life and tend to look on the brighter side of things. But I believe in continuous self-improvement and always working towards being the best possible version of yourself. You only get one life, so I definitely feel it's important to get the most out of it. However, believing and doing are two very separate things. I definitely have the lazy tendency to sometimes just shuffle through certain areas of my life and not grab the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone to make positive changes.
It's not taking the easy way out and really hustling towards getting that "shine" in your life. (see what I did there?)
I'm a perpetual planner and list-maker and believe these things take some thought and work to keep them front of mind. I've developed my Hustle & Shine Strategy to work on these little self-improvements, or resolutions.
Inspired by the Happiness Project's practice of making and tracking resolutions that are concrete and manageable(like“Play with my dog each morning”), I'll be working on my own list to share.

I think I'll jump on board with this. I want to read it when you're done, please!
