My Wedding DIYs: canvas guest book

Continuing with the untraditional style of my table numbers and the overall weirdness of spending an entire Saturday creating a DIY lighted marquee sign, I wanted to do something a little different from the standard guest book at my wedding.

I knew that book would get shelved and never looked at again after the wedding, so I wanted something we could display. I decided on a large canvas that I could hang somewhere quirky and not in plan every-day view. I decided to display it in the laundry room so while faced with the un-fun task of doing laundry, I could glance at our "guest book" and be reminded of our very-fun wedding.

Canvas Guest Book

Materials

  • Large canvas (Michael's - make sure to use the 40% off coupons they always have on the app)
  • Easel (Job Lot)
  • Modge Podge
  • Paint brush
  • Glitter
  • Assortment of colored sharpies
  • Picture frame to display instructions for guests
To make, I cut out the letters from a printed font I liked and a heart shape and traced lightly with pencil centered on my canvas. I then took my brush and modge podge and painted inside the pencil lines. Next, I glittered the modge podge, shaking off excess. That's it! So easy.

I also printed out instructions to guests (and also glittered the picture frame like a lunatic).
